Mika runs off with Night chasing behind. Shortly, he retreats into charging mode and Riiko has to drag him to a less obvious spot to hibernate till the next morning. Night gets increasingly drawn to Mika, who begins to feel embarassed though at the same time, delighted to see have Knight stolen from Riiko. Riiko, despite Mika's earlier actions, worries for Mika, as she doesn't know Night is a robot.
Namikiri briefs Riiko that Night's change is caused by the format and recovery functions he programs in Night. When kissed by another girl, Night will reboot to become the boyfriend of the new subject, and have prior memories removed. This function is to simulate a love affair should the girl gets bored with the robot. He thought this function might make the relationship more interesting.
Riiko tries to back out of the contract but he stresses it has been written in the contract, just that she didn't pay attention to it.
Namikiri warns Riiko to win Night back before Mika finds out anything. The only way to get Night back as her boyfriend is for Riiko to kiss him again for the program to reboot.
If the secret of Night being a robot leaks out, Riiko has to pay a heavy penalty.
Night confesses to Mika, who assures that he no longer loves Riiko. She plays hard-to-get and Night asks her for a dinner date to express his sincerity.
Riiko tries several times to ambush Night at work, but her attempt to kiss him ends in utter failure and comedy.
At his dinner date, Riiko with Namikiri distracts Night away just when Mika walks off to receive a call. Riiko's attempt to kiss him is interrupted by Mika who mistakes that Night is still seeing Riiko. Mika asks Night to return toRiiko's side and leaves. Night sees Riiko as a villain and warns her to stop causing any dispute between him and Mika in future.
Riiko decides to give up on Night, and Namikiri is stressed by his superior to retrieve Night back as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Soshi is suspended from work, and spends his free time searching for a pastry dealer willing to sell his cream puff. He is assisted by Riiko as soon as she knows of this. After much persistence, Soshi receives a call that he might be allowed a two day exhibition vacancy for Riiko's cream puffs.
Night finds Mika going out with another man, and tells him off when the man replies that their relationship is only a game to him, and Mika as well. Night declares that what Mika truly needs is a man who loves her truly. Mika is touched by his words and begins to fall truly in love with Night.
She accepts him and tells him to meet at the same place the next day. On that day, Namikiri and his assistant arrive at the cafe to bring Night back when a fire breaks out. The reader is stepped and broken as the frantic crowd hurry out of the cafe. Night refuses to leave before Mika arrives.
Riiko is asked by a helpless Namikiri to rush to the scene in haste to reboot Night as he is unable to find any girl who will do so. Halfway to meet Soshi for the exhibition negotiation, Riiko turns and hurries off to the cafe and kisses him before she suffocates and faints from the smoke. Soon, Night reboots and saves her out from the fire. Somehow, he still recalls Riiko's name. Mika arrives shortly but leaves in disappointment seeing Riiko in Night's arms. Riiko rushes to meet Soshi to find he has already left.
